THERE ARE MORE THAN FIFTY FISHING EVENTS DURING FESTIVAL WEEK !

LEARN TO FISH EVENTS -  for young and new anglers and a great opportunity to get your fishing career off to a flying start. Try your hand ar either fly fishing for trout or coarse fishing - better still have a go at both. There are  numerous events throughout the week for beginners of all ages. All the tackle and equipment you need is provided along with top class instruction.

SALMON FISHING EVENTS - Spend a day on the Derwent with Ally Gowans or join Glyn on the Eden for all the latest tips and techniques. Just a few minutes of careful instruction can correct those casting faults or help to put yards on your cast -or perhaps you want to learn how to reach that difficult lie and present the fly better. It all adds up to more fish in the net.

RIVER TROUT FISHING - top Cumbrian anglers on their home turf. Jeremy Lucas will share his intimate knowledge of the Eden's fantastic wild browns or perhaps spend a day with Stuart Broadhurst exploring the more intimate reaches of the Lowther and Eamont. The more energetic might fancy a taste of the 'wet and wild' with Eric Hope on one of Lakelands best freestone rivers. Great days out - especially for anglers new to the delights of river trouting.

PREDATOR EVENTS - new for this year. Track down the big pike of Esthwaite Water during our special predator day led by one of the country's top pikers. Or join the increasing number of anglers experiencing the power and the thrill of pike on the fly rod.

STILLWATER TROUT SESSIONS - Cumbria has some fantastic stillwaters for both rainbows and wild browns. Enjoy the best of it from bank or boat while you learn. Events include lochstyle fishing on Ullswater and Esthwaite together with day and evening sessions at Bigland and Farleton View. Ideal for anyone wanting to improve their casting skills or to keep up to date with the latest methods.

COARSE FISHING EVENTS - More new events for 2010.  Chris Bowman runs two sessions for specimen hunters, one for carp on a secluded private fishery near Carlisle - and one for pike. Plus three great family fishing days at different venues around Cumbria.

SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT - Lee Cummings is at the cutting edge of saltwater fly fishing. Spend the day with him as he hunts for angling's toughest challenge - mullet on the fly - Cumbrian Bonefish!

FESTIVAL LUCKY DIP - All the other festival events that don't fit neatly into any one theme! These include fish smoking (and tasting),  underwater cameras for a fishes eye view of the world, fly tying sessions, filmshows and all sorts of other fishy goings on.
