Pike on the Fly - Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th May

More and more anglers are discovering the challenge and thrill of catching pike on the fly - but it does mean some refinements to tackle and techniques. Eric Hope is right at the forefront of this branch of the sport with a string of large fish to his rod. He'll shortcut you through the whole learning process - with every chance of a first fly caught pike on the day.  Sorry - now fully booked

derwent pikeThere was a big demand for this event last year - and some very good fish were caught! Four half days are available  - with just two places on each session. Fishing is from Eric's boat on Derwentwater. This means you'll be able to cover plenty of water and reach those normally inaccessible bays and shorelines. He'll show you the various rigs and patterns to use and give you all the advice you need on casting and fishing techniques. There is every chance of connecting with fish during these sessions - and Eric will be doing his utmost to ensure that your pike fly fishing career gets off to a successful start.

While you need not be an experienced pike angler for this event you should already be able to cast a reasonable flyline to get the most out of the day.
