A tale of two rivers - Thursday 19th May, Friday 20th May

The Eamont and Lowther are both Eden tributaries - and no more than few miles apart. But there the similarity ends. Join local guide Stuart Broadhurst as he takes you on a journey of exploration and highlights the different approaches required for success on these two fascinating waters. This was last years most popular event - book early, places are limited.

stuart 1The day starts at the Punchbowl Inn at Askham with coffee and then off to the Lowther. The morning is spent covering tackle, flies and rod set up, rivercraft, observation and how to approach fish with the focus very much on upstream dry fly. Stuart will also take you through the casts that you need for those difficult lies including the 'correct' roll cast and the snake roll.

Then its back to the Punchbowl for lunch before setting out for the Eamont and a much more hands on session in the afternoon with one to one casting and fishing tuition.  Both the morning and afternoon sessions take place on private beats with excellent fish stocks.
