Calder Angling Association controls the bulk of the fishing on the River Calder in west Cumbria. There are brown trout present but fishing is mostly for sea trout and salmon with fair numbers of fish in a good year - although very much dependant on river conditions on this small spate river. Very reasonably priced membership is available for non residents and the club also issues day permits..
